Kitten Trouble

I don't know if three of these kittens will live or not--two of the brown tabbies and little Smokes, who have had diarrhea the worst from coccidia. All are on Albon, but kittens can dehydrate and die rapidly, losing fluids and electrolytes. Consequently, I have also been giving them sub cu fluids, electrolytes, bioflora, etc. Been tons of work. I fell asleep on my couch in my clothes last night at about 7:30 p.m. and suddenly woke up about 2:00 a.m.

I began the kitten drill, the meds, feeding, cleaning, and then fell asleep briefly in the kitten room, with Smokes curled under my chin. This morning I put Desitin on the raw red butts of the two tabbies who still have diarrhea. The other two tabby kittens rapidly recovered. Rocket and Pokey also are recovering rapidly.

Rocket is now eating solid food and has surpassed the Wrecking Yard kittens in size, although they play tag, some growing suddenly, rocketing ahead of the others in size, then slowing down, while the others grow.

Smokes and two of the tabby boys are still in trouble with diarrhea. Will they live? I don't know. I don't know if I will. Man, they are a lot of work.

My vets are off at Disneyland this week, for a needed short vacation.

I need a vacation of some sort. Other than nodding off here and there, with a kitten attached to my shirt.

I've got to return the two Farley Felines, fixed yesterday, and pick up my carriers and trap from the Davidson Dazzler colony. There are still two adults there needing fixed, both females, one with three five week old kittens. I've taken in nine already for fixing from that one house--four males and five females.

I have one or two to catch at the Elm street location, one to catch at Farley Felines, one to catch at Poohcow. I'm also taking care of someone's cats for a few days, while they are out of town.

I am lonely. I've come to accept living like this, void of human contact, but I always am looking for a way to remedy my isolation.
