I didn't mean to get anything at a garage sale, that's for sure. But I stumbled into the BEST GARAGE SALE EVER. Everything cost almost nothing and I mean nothing. They wanted the stuff gone. It was an estate sale. I got a shop vac that works for a buck. I got some pots and pans, about six of them, for a buck. (I am still using pots and pans, the very few I have, that I got free at a garage sale a decade ago and they were beat up then). And, I got a trundle bed, with mattress for $2.50. That's two bed frames, with wire and springs forming the platform for a matterss, and one mattress (they're looking for the second) for $2.50! $2.50!
It was a stretch to get it in my car. And I pain in my back to get them out alone. I put one in the garage room and one in the spare bedroom. The one mattress is on the one in the garage room. I stretched out on it already. I love it.
I could have put one atop the other. The one that goes underneath, or is made to, folds down to ground level then will slide beneath the other, to make two beds, if you pull it out and pop it up, or one big one if you leave them side by side and fasten them together.
If anyone ever comes to visit, I can accomodate two adult visitors now. Or, I can choose to sleep in one of three different places. In the meantime, the cats will take both over, I'm sure. They have a way of doing that.
So that's about all I did today. I was sore to begin with and now even sorer.
The central Oregon people who had wanted me to hold this orange tabby kitten for them, called me this evening from Portland and said they would be here early tomorrow. Now, however, they just want to look at the kitten, see if they like her, and may not adopt her I guess. I usually do not hold cats or kittens. Usually it's first come, first serve. I suppose this validates my usual way of doing things. I shouldn't vary from my usual protocols. This couples sound like they'd give any cat they end up choosing a wonderful home.
If they don't adopt her, hopefully I will be able to find her another home quickly.
I am a Cat Woman. My self-appointed mission in life is to save the feline world! To accomplish this mission, I get cats fixed. Perhaps my mission might be slightly delusional. This blog is a mishmash of wishful thinking, rants, experiences as I remember them and of course, cat stories and cat photos. I have a nonprofit now, to help keep the cats here cared for and to fix community cats. Happy Cat Club formed in 2015. Currently, we are on a mission to fix 10,000 cats.

ReplyDeletethe obamma rally sounded like a good time (long). your comment about him being tired remined me of when clinton (bill) feel asleep at the church a few months ago. i also wonder how they manage to do so much.
happy adopted mom to lot's of cats day!
It's like a several year long marathon they run. You'd think they end up meth addicts just to survive it. And to look interested in each and every speech audience. The audiences, locations, states, must run together in the end, like a water color painting being rained on. And through it all, perfection is demanded of them, their memories, their pronunciation.
ReplyDeleteRunning for public office should be considered an endurance sport.
Yes, the Obamarama was very fun.
