Same as the Old Boss

The new boss of our country will be the same as the old boss. The House and Senate are in charge really. But they do nothing that helps America.

John Edwards would have been the man I voted for. He saw the injustices, poverty and problems in America. But, he had a fatal flaw. He couldn't get himself to live how he believed. Hence, his anger. Like Al Gore, the global warming man who gulps more power than a small city.

And Bush, militarizing America, so that we ignore every other problem. All our money is going into foreign wars. Our country crumbles. Our ecomony is falling apart. Our agricultural land is now being eaten up in crops of crap corn for the ethanal hoax, which drives up prices of everything, including food, which has resulted in less food available as aid to starving nations and less food available in aid for our own poor.

Most of our once decent pay jobs are overseas and the American companies who export American jobs receive no penalties.

Our food supply is primarily shipped in from foreign countries that have no environmental regulations or manufacturing oversight. The departments of our government that are supposed to protect our food supply, inspect foreign shipments, and keep products coming in for consumers safe---existing with budgets trashed and little honest leadership.

Nonprofits of doctors who once operated free clinics in third world nations have turned to holding the clinics in America, because the need is so high here.

We have no shame about any of the above.

Because our elected members of the house and senate, and our president, ignore the needs of Americans, I begin to think there is a deeper consiparacy to destroy America, from the top. I begin to think the last few years have been a conglomeration of either stupidity, from our elected officials, selfishness from our elected officials or vested special interest affecting our elected officials making them vote and push legislation and agendas that destory our great country.

For what reason would our elected officials, including the President and his people, work to destroy our country? Money? It's the usual suspect. Somebody getting rich and thinking they can set up themselves and their buddies to get even richer. The other option is stupidity.

But look at the long list of deliberate miscalculations and mishandlings of policy, foreign and domestic. Do we want change? We have to change.

The Democrats are without balls or substance. The Republicans have no values. A Ron Paul America is impossible because a libertarian society can exist only in a moral society. Otherwise libertarian societies crumble as laws must be enacted once again, to stop exploitation, so easy to accomplish among immoral people, without curtailing laws and consequences. (one reason Africa is a mess).

I believe America should fall back upon its constitution in such a time.

I believe we should not be engaged in spreading democracy, by force, when ours is falling apart.

I believe we need to close many overseas bases and keep a focuses well trained well equiped lighter less expensive military.

I believe we need to solve the health care issue. I do not believe in free access total coverage health care for all. I see how Medicaid now is exploited by those who go in for every little ache and twitch, because it is paid for by others.

It could be accomplished, however, in American fashion, should we somehow incorporate rewards for those who take care of themselves and lowered coverage/ increasing copayments for those who do not.

For example, on universal coverage, all Americans could get five tickets good for exchange to see a doctor for free once a year. You could sell extra tickets you did not use at the end of the year, either to others needing them, or back to the government. If you smoke, you will have to pay $25, or more, per ticket for the five tickets you get for the year. If you are so much overweight, you pay so much per ticket per ten extra pounds also. Etc. Anyhow, just a thought.

If you are a drug addict or alcoholic, you get two times through state sponsored rehab. If you don't stay off the drugs/booze, no more public paid health insurance or rehab. You'd have to buy your own.

Choice would remain in the mix, because a person could always choose to buy their own health coverage, but nobody would be allowed to go without health insurance, unless they agreed to not use a hospital ER, and signed a statement to that affect which would be coded onto their driver's license. The public would have to have the will to dump their injured uninsured bodies out on the street, if they refused to have insurance, when they could, thereby creating a public financial liability.

I don't know the answers on how to get America back on track. I'm trying to think of answers. I know there are lots of very intelligent people who live in our country and nobody must be asking them for answers or listening then to their answers or we wouldn't be in such a mess.

  1. Alas, we'd have fallen back on the Constitution except that the current administration has gutted it. Sadly so many of the things that need to be done NOW will be waiting as we (hopefully) elect a president who will get us back to the constitution.

I could post 1000s of words on this issue because I think there is WAY too much that needs to be done--even a heroic leader is going to need a lot of help from the lower levels.

  2. So much to do, I know. No time for these lawmakers who share beds with special interests and lobbyists to the detriment of America.

I hope America can unify enough to get what needs doing done. I'd like to hear one of these candidates say: "here's what I can't do for you and will not promise you". All these people, demanding a cnadidate do this or that for them or their cause. What happened to those timeless words of JFK..."Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."

We shouldn't be demanding of these candidates, "what will you do for me and mine?" We should be asking "How can we help America?"

  3. "A Ron Paul America is impossible because a libertarian society can exist only in a moral society."

I've often said something to that extent, except more like: "Communism, Liberterianism and other forms of government that resemble them have two fatal flaws. One is that they're based on an ideal situation, and the other is that they assume that humans aren't morons."

Slurpy

My dear old Slurpy erupted in a horrendous URI, one of those I didn't detect because, it seems, its sinus. Not usual signs, like snotty...
