Today, after some negotiating of time, a Mapleton couple came up and adopted both Siskiyou, the little beautiful torbi and Shasta, Misty's black male kitten. The couple is very nice and intended only to adopt Siskiyou, but could not resist Shasta, since they want a playmate for their adult male cat. Shasta will be coming back here in a couple weeks, for his booster, and again later on, for his neuter. These are nice folks I enjoyed talking to and we may well end up long term friends. They travel through Corvallis every now and then.
My bathroom cat load is down to seven. Yippee!
I also have a place lined up for three or four outdoor cats. Claws will be one of those lucky kitties because this is a really nice location for them with a nice animal loving family. His orange buddy will go, too. I just need to go get him and I'm supposed to be heading back into the camps tomorrow afternoon.
Also, the Albany FCCO volunteer fostering Dutch, BamBam and Pebbles may have run into someone she knows who might take two of those kittens, after they are fixed. If so, this means in less than a week, 8 of the cats will be fixed and placed. This is great for the homeless camp cats and for me.
For now, Congratulations and good luck to Siskiyou and Shasta, very recently of the Albany homeless camp, but who today moved on with their lives and into a nice new home.
Claws will be next, perhaps, to move on, unless the kittens move quickly after their fixes Wednesday and right into homes. I do have a place for Claws as soon as he is neutered, which at the latest will be Wednesday. And I would imagine more will be moving out quickly, including Claws buddy Clockwork Orange, as I call him. If I catch him tomorrow, he can be immediately neutered Tuesday, then he and Claws will be going to their new home Wednesday afternoon.
