I completely inflamed myself. From TMJ down to back muscles and abdominal muscles.
It was likely the Christmas tree event, trying to get it back up into the rafters to collect dust another year.
To do it, I have to climb a ladder, then pull it up to the top of the ladder, then hoist it up over my head to throw it onto a metal roofing piece up in the rafters. I believe this is not the first time I've hurt myself doing this chore.
I don't suppose carrying the traps down along the grass to the waiting truck on Wednesday helped much either. It was awkward. The transporter truck filled the driveway and had come in front first, so to load the cats I had to go out on the grass of the neighbors yard to go around the truck to get to the back, when I'd had only a few hours of sleep. Ordinarily that would not have affected me, but deprived of sleep, yeah, I can hurt myself when tired very easily now I find.
Thursday night the pain was intense. I slept most of the day Friday, then strangely all last night too. Feel better today but still have pain. I cancelled my clinic appointments for Monday. These were the only appointments I had all month at the Salem clinic and have none for next month either. So it was a huge difficult decision to do that yesterday morning, in time for them to find replacements. I was going to try to catch the rest needing done at the Blue Ox and gas station colonies. These involve long long waits in my car, traversing that four foot ditch half full of water, and I couldn't imagine doing that.
Anyhow, the vet student came and borrowed traps for her FCCO appointments next Thursday. The only part I'll play in that is overnighting them here before the transporter picks them up Thursday morning. Also I'm to trap the ten cats Wednesday and Thursday a Shedd couple has appointments for at the FCCO Friday but their daughter is transporting them up. I went and got the orange tabby kitten there also on Thursday, who is in the bathroom, also recuperating from a URI. The black girl kitten is over hers now.
They will leave next Friday to go to the FCCO and into their Kitten Caboose program.
Rain continues here, endlessly.
I am so sorry to read that you have damaged yourself again. And very glad to hear you have stepped back a bit - though the fact that you have tells me just how intense the pain is. I am also glad the vet student is stepping in.
ReplyDeleteSeems much easier to do now that I'm approaching 70. Go figure.
DeleteI hope your pain continues to improve. I know it was a difficult decision to give up your appointments but they will be filled by other needy cats, so all won't be lost.
ReplyDeleteBetter today.
DeleteI am reminded by your video how two cats can hate each other and yet share a food bowl.
ReplyDeleteThese two like one another at least.
DeleteTake care of your self.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Thanks, already much better.
DeleteIt sounds like you're busy even if you did give up a few appointments. I think that's the best plan as it sounds like you need a bit of a rest. I have a feeling some appointments will open up when you're better able to trap. Take care.
ReplyDelete~hugs~
ReplyDeleteThanks. All better.
