Two Nice Days

We had two nice days.  Beautiful days.  Was near 70 if not 70.

I got the lawn mowed, front and back.

Today its back to rain.

The cat I'm pet sitting is so constipated.  I don't just pop in for a moment then leave when I petsit, because I feel sorry for the cat, that they're alone.   So Lucy the cat was back and forth to the litter box, digging at it, but not going. She'd have tiny hard rock stool pieces too.  I text the owners, who are in another state.   Oh boy.  Finally I go to Petco and get cat lax, which is overpriced.  She likes it and I've been giving it to her twice a day.   Her stools are getting a little softer, but so little of them still.

This is the final chapter of my helpful neighbor pet sitting days.  For sure this time. Lol.  Gigi, who isn't mine but thinks she is, might shudder to hear such a thing.  It's ok Gigi.  Mi casa su casa.  I feel I take care of enough animals of my own and others already, without add ons.

Anyhow....

I picked up the girl cat from the mother of the homeless man I met in the back parking lot behind the gas station, when trapping.  She's 2 and has had four litters already.   She was fixed today.

I'm so happy for her that she's done with all that reproducing.  They already gave away the kittens from her latest litter.

Then the vet student caught four more in that trailer park where she lives.  She should get a rent discount for cleaning up that whole place.

I told her that but of course that doesn't make it happen.

This is Roger, a big huge boy.

And this is Miller, another boy, but not so big.

The vet student and her husband were certain the two teens they caught were a brother and sister.  So this one got named Theo.   But Theo is a girl just like Cassie, her sister.

Cassie

So I'm waiting for her to pick the four up.  She recovers them there.   The Baby Kitty folks are recovering her also.  So I'm off the hook for tonight.  I like that.

The vet student has now trapped 20 there, for fixing.

Its garbage to the curb night.   Why does it seem like a big deal to push a garbage cart down to my curb?  I put it off and put it off til sometimes I'm doing it at midnight.

A woman killed her 3 year old little girl here in town a couple days ago.  Pretty horrific to kill your own little kid.  How in the world does a mother do that.  She's in jail already facing murder 1.

I'm not sure when we'll get another day without rain.  Forecast on the news tonight---rain every day for the next week.  Darn it anyhow.  Feeling smug I got the lawn mowed before the next week of deluges.

  1. I don't know why I take the garbage to the curb in the dark, either. I did it the other night and had to use a flashlight. It seems silly when I say it, but it is a common practice of mine.

    1. Yeah, sounds like me too, like its some horrible difficult painful job or something, instead of just rolling a cart down a driveway.

  2. Sorry you're done with pet sitting. Do you need excuses for those that ask? I don't get asked to do that sort of thing, so I wouldn't know.

    1. No excuses needed, I can just say "no" but I like to think up silly excuses.

  3. Poor Lucy. I hope she has found some relief now.
And thank you, and the vet student. Much needed work, well done.

The 4th

Happy the 4th is over.   It's the fireworks.   They terrify some of my cats.  Not the old deaf ones.   Gigi hid under the cat stairs in...
