The Strange Cat Round Up

I still have just four cats for tomorrow's five spay neuter reservations.

Only one was an intended catch.  She or he, Chirpy I call the cat, is from the big Lebanon colony.  I went there Saturday afternoon, thinking there were five more needing caught, two younger ones and three big males.

Turns out there was only one younger one needing fixed still and I caught him or her.   Turns out one of the males is already ear tipped, taken in by someone else, probably KATA, who trapped a couple houses down a few years ago.   Of the two other big males, only one is still around, but so far hasn't been interested in food much.  He's too interested in spray marking and smelling everything in their yard to determine if some enemy of him has been through.  He's really out of luck now, being as how there are no more unfixed girls in the area.

So anyhow, I got the one young one there.

Unless they want to keep trying for that great big male it'll be a wrap there.

I was contacted by some folks I know.  Two cats, at least, had been tossed out on the road close to them in a box a few days ago.  They briefy saw both but only one ever made it to their barn.  She's a little black female and tame but has obviously been traumatized by her experience with ahole humans.  They want to keep her once she's fixed tomorrow.

Some other Lebanon woman contacted me about kittens they found.  I didn't know they were just born.  Anyhow Keithas Kitties took the five but the mom had run off.  I thought there was a mom with them, but apparently the mom left them kind of as she was having them.  Anyhow I went over there today, to see if I could catch her, having two spots left open for two cats from there and she I would take, if caught, to KKR, to raise her own kittens.  She was nowhere to be found, however, or seen.  There are some previously TNR'ed cats there that KATA had done a few years back and some owned fixed pets and then the mom, a male and two teens.   I caught the adult male and the female teen and they'll be fixed tomorrow.

The fifth cat is supposed to be coming up from Tangent tonight, but I don't know if that will happen or not.  Hope it does.   So anyhow that's the story of the cats who will be fixed tomorrow.

Birdie, I call the black thrown out in a box little girl, is in the bathroom and very very tired.  She's just a teenager.

I would also like to say I hate drones.   Some guy at the end has one he flies up and down the street and over people's houses.   I hate it.   They're intrusive, loud and its extremely rude to do that, except on and over your own property.  It says "I can violate your privacy anytime I like".   Two drones fell out of my maple tree at different times.  One nearly hit me on the head.  A drone was caught in and eventually fell out of the tree at the end of the block.   Neighbor two houses down has also had his share of drones fall into his yard.  Anyhow, I hope he caught my middle finger on his drone cam this evening.

  1. Decades ago I had to stop watching the show "Animal Cops" because it made me so angry. Thank you for standing up against these cretins' heinous acts every day. ~hugs~ I hope you are feeling better, too.

    1. I saw a video once of an eagle or hawk attacking a drone. It was beautiful to behold.

  3. One of our much loved cats came to us when someone in the area stopped for a cardboard box thrown in the road. It contained four very young kittens. I really don't like our species. Often.
Thank you so much for all you do.

  4. People are a lot. Glad you were able to catch the ones you could. Too bad you can't shoot drones out of the sky.
