14 for Tomorrow

UPDATE   Apartment lady caught her last cat in the night, so all ten are headed up right now, via a transporter from Keithas Kitties, to the clinic.   I'll be leaving with the other 5 for the Salem clinic in a few minutes.

I've got 14 extra cats now.   I'd have 15 if the apartment woman had caught her last cat.  She's still trying.

Getting nine contained is pretty good, I feel.  I imagine trying to get my own difficult crowd here all contained in one or two days.

When she brought over number nine, I was dragging.   She then helped me label some traps and carriers and get the three kittens from rural town settled in and labeled.  This was a big help.   I didn't sleep well last night.  When I have extra cats here I think about it, even in my sleep I guess, worry about if they're ok, all that.   I took a nap this afternoon to help myself out of the exhaustion daze of not much sleep during last night.

By tonight it will pretty much be over with most of the cats already home.

Here's number nine, from the apartment, a big easy going Siamese boy.   He's gorgeous and his name is Mr. Whittle.

I went out and picked up the three kittens from the farmhouse a few miles out of town.  I love that old house.  She invited me in.   Its old with original wood floors.  The living room was small and cozy with a bit of a smoke haze, from the wood stove going.  The kitchen was so very cozy and contained an oven that is fired by wood and very old too.  I think she said it was built in 1919 but I may be remembering the year incorrectly.   It had a solid feel underfoot and inside, nothing rotted or built poorly.

The kittens were born to a feral mom who hasn't been seen in awhile, although she put out a trap the last week hoping she was just not seeing her but she was really out there.  Caught nothing though.

Here they are.  Two girls and a boy.

BG, a girl

Callie, also a girl of course, being a calico

This is Gradie, the boy

Tomorrow morning the transporter, taking the nine up to McMinnville, to be fixed, arrives just after 6:00 a.m. so off to bed for me.  By 6:30, I'll be on my way to Salem with the kittens and the two from the ditch colony.   I don't know if the apartment lady will catch her last boy or not.  I told her to call if she does, wake me up.  I don't wake up for texts.

    1. She did. Here last boy went into a trap in her bedroom early this morning, so she brought him over. All ten are now on their way to the clinic.

    1. Only one snafu, which is incredible, and that was the ten were not vaccinated at the clinic for panleuk, etc. I had thought they would be. So I took them into my bathroom once home and vaccinated each one. Got it done, wasn't as easy as it might sound, some aren't very tame.

  6. That's amazing! I cannot imagine how you vaccinate basically feral cats. And I'm glad you enjoyed a visit to that farmhouse. ~hugs~ Be well, my dear.
