I went to the lake today. There were not many people there--a handful of fisher people and a few other kayakers, but that was it.
I paddled around the edges of the lake. The water is down at least five feet. I'm sure this was my last fling. The lake levels are being lowered and besides, its supposed to begin raining. The sounds of the water are so peaceful. I stayed as long as a I could.
After paddling the edge of the lake and I turned up river and went a couple miles up the Santiam, which was still as night. Only birds disturbed the absolute silence. And the sounds of water.
Once back near the boat ramp, I waded into the water and went swimming. Why not? Summer is gone. Fall will soon deliver rain and windstorms. Today was beautiful.

It looks beautiful. I am so glad that you had this lovely day.

DeleteWhat I seen of Oregon I thought it was quite pretty
ReplyDeleteThe valley is very very beautiful. So is the coast and the mountains--breath taking. Eastern Oregon, the high desert, haven't actually been there much.
