She's at the vet today having it amputated.
Happy she has a great owner, who saw her with that leg dangling and got her to a vet.
I went up to the Bellinger colony, once I got home yesterday, and got the last adult needing fixed there. She's a friendly torti. But....she has four kittens who also need fixed.
It was sad there though. Tank, that floppy gangley black lab puppy, who made trapping difficult, with his overly friendly nature, was found dead yesterday morning on the road. I wanted to cry to hear that sweetie met his end that violently. He just wanted attention and to play.
So the Bellinger torti is up being fixed in McMinnville today. The drive up to McMinnville, while it takes over an hour, is entirely pleasant, compared to the nightmare of driving to Portland and the FCCO clinic now, with congestion on the freeway. I've toyed with taking cats to the FCCO again, if I can get reservations, but then comes to mind the nightmare traffic, the pain in my left knee, that may be associated with use of my clutch, when driving, and the hell of driving a clutch transmission in congestion. Then I think "no" I'll make do.
So along with the torti from the Bellinger colony, went two Sweet Home cats KATA volunteers Debbie and Helen caught. And along with those three, a Lebanon female, little thing, that Lisa, another KATA volunteer, caught in the parking lot of a convenience store in Lebanon. They had a crazy time there catching her and other cats, with people bothering them, or even trying to come take cats with open carriers, until Lisa was at her wits end and wondering if everyone needs medicated or drug and alcohol treatment around there. (maybe both)
So those are the four. I don't mind that other people trapped three of them. Makes it easier on my bad knee and sleep factor and I was really worn out yesterday.

So that's that. KATA will be picking up their three at 5:00, so I better be on time getting home. And the torti will overnight here. Hey, maybe she'll call in lost boy/boyfriend Titus. One of her kittens looks just like the garage escapee Titus. I intend to line a trap with paper she's slept on, in fact, see if that helps him decide to take the trap risk. He's got a long memory about traps.
Lots of sadness in this post - as well as some very positive news.
ReplyDeleteI do hape that Titus can be tempted into a trap just one more time.
He's contained, at least I hope, for neuter tomorrow.
DeleteThat's heartwarming that the kitty should recover with the amputation. And heart*breaking* about Tank. :( Thanks for keeping on with these good works. Good luck with Titus.
ReplyDeleteI hope she'll be ok, haven't heard how she is today yet. Tragic about Tank. Just very sad.
