Rescued!

I got rescued from myself today.

I have so many extra cats here, most unfixed right now, today I felt sick with worry.  It's tough to find homes when I'm not an adoption group and very tough to even find open spay neuter reservations around here anytime soon.  Enough of them, that is.  We all struggle with that one.   I knew the bathroom girls would have places eventually, in Portland, but when?  Anyhow, it was friends to the rescue day for me.  I am very very grateful.

I did return the two Sweet Homers fixed yesterday--Tibby the boy tabby from Egg Place and Miss Kitty, the girl, in heat no less, from Ridgeway.

Miss Kitty, from Ridgeway Road in Sweet Home
I put Tibby the Tabby's photo on yesterday's post.

I also took a load of cages and two traps I never use to KATA in Sweet Home.  That felt good.

My friends came through in the afternoon, to help out, since my stress has been high.  Always is when I have extra cats here.  Three friends in all, two of them in Portland, will help place six of the cats I have here needing somewhere else to call home.

The five Cascadians will be fixed tomorrow.  A friends mom has neighbors who will take two of the five after they are fixed.

Meanwhile, Vicki, the torti in the bathroom, along with Squirt,  the wild orange and white teen, both from Ridgeway, I will hand over to Karen tomorrow up in Portland at the clinic where the Cascadians will be fixed.  Animal Rescue and Care Fund is taking the other two Ridgeway girls who have been in my bathroom--Khaleesi and Bobbi.   I'll be down to only three extras by the weekend.

Friends to the rescue!   Thanks Carma of ARCF.  Thanks Karen.   Thanks Stacy!

Here's a video of the girls in the bathroom.  I finally just sat on the throne in there and played with kittens to relax.

  1. Wonderful news.
I am glad that the rescuer can also be rescued. And sorry that she needed it.

Good news. I suppose you know they are getting old when they no longer respond to such play.

    1. Yes, when a cat or a human stops playing, something is very wrong.

Nothing To It

What does one say, to arrive at a new colony, get out of the car to discuss with the cats' caretaker, how we will proceed, when she blur...
