Woohoo New Floor!

This is a Berliny Bunch muted calico, photo taken when she was fixed, last January.
And this is her today. I took this photo when I was up trapping three more unfixed adults today.

Thanks to Diane, of Corvallis, who, yesterday, stopped by with several boxes of stick on vinyl squares she and her hubby had left over. So today, I applied! And I have a beautiful floor now, to replace the plywood, which had already become a problem for stains.

I also trapped 9 cats in two locations and went to Corvallis to pick up the last cat of the downtown colony, caught today. I already trapped two adults and three kittens there, then left them a trap to catch the last adult. They caught the black cat today. I went over this evening and picked her up.

I finally connected with the 34th street colony caretaker. I went over and very quickly trapped six cats there. I told her "Look, if these cats were dating, they'd be called 'easy'" Because they were easy. I would set a trap and seconds later, one would trip it. I could have caught them all. Instead, I settled for six.

I then headed up to the Berliny Bunch colony outside Lebanon. Over a year ago, I trapped 12 or so cats there. More have arrived or I missed one. Something. Now she said there were at least four more unfixed adults and four kittens that she had tamed down. She is frustrated because the cats originate at a barn next door. But those people will not feed them and were angry at her for getting the cats fixed. But they migrate to her place, because the people with the barn won't feed them. They're idiots, so she gets them fixed, and feeds them, and it's shit. She's so angry at them for their irresponsible behavior. And rightfully so.

So I drop trapped three unfixed adults quickly. I told her I'd pick up the kittens tomorrow, to be fixed Tuesday. Stupid ass neighbors.

My vet will kill me for over-trapping. One of the 34th street cats is just an over grown kitten, so I'll hold her until Tuesday, the kitten fix day. That still leaves me 8 from two locations, plus the Corvallis black--nine in total. That won't fly with the vet. No way. I'll have to hold some over. And my HUD inspection is in the morning.

I did good though today. Rascal and Longtom got a home. Munchy is leaving for a home Tuesday. I redid the floor in the beautiful stick on vinyl squares, (THANK YOU Diane) and trapped nine cats and picked up a tenth. Not bad, eh?

  4. the floor is fabulous! Thanks to Diane! And yes, Diane, the muted cal is looking great. The caretaker takes pride in how good they look. Some didn't look so good when they first straggled over, from her neighbor's barn.
