I am a Cat Woman. My self-appointed mission in life is to save the feline world! To accomplish this mission, I get cats fixed. Perhaps my mission might be slightly delusional. This blog is a mishmash of wishful thinking, rants, experiences as I remember them and of course, cat stories and cat photos. I have a nonprofit now, to help keep the cats here cared for and to fix community cats. Happy Cat Club formed in 2015. Currently, we are on a mission to fix 10,000 cats.

Not all government workers get treated so nicely...my husband gets paid by the State of Maryland and what is the State of Maryland doing to his paycheck, along with all the other employees of Morgan State University (except, of course, the president of MSU)? furloughs, furloughs and more furloughs, i.e., you go to work, do your job, but don't get paid. They'll be furloughed two days in Dec. and two in Jan. and I hope that will be the end of it, but probably not. Must be the federal government workers who get such good pay and benefits, its certainly not the state ones...
ReplyDeleteI know. I know a lot of government workers get pissed on, basically. I'm thinking about situations I've run into. One was as a teen I worked in a county park on the grounds crew. I was told to slow down on the weeding, that those weeds had to last all summer. The ranger also routinely posted me at the front of the park, to watch out for county commissioners, while the head ranger and assistant ranger and the three teen guys on the crew played cribbage for hours in the park shop. A whole lot of wasted taxpayer dollars there. I did learn to play cribbage, by watching. These were sexist rednecks, who refused to let a girl play, fearful she might beat them. I have many other examples.
