Click post title to go to a Corvallis Gazette Times news article about the missing owner of the found dog.
A white well groomed small foo foo dog (fluffy), was found in the Peavy Arboritum Parking lot Thursday, dragging it's leash. The dog has a red collar but no tags. An older man has been seen before, walking the dog in that area, so Benton County authorities are worried something might have happened to the owner. The dog is now at Heartland. Searchers are combing the park, which is north of Corvallis off Highway 99W, searching for the owner, in case he fell or suffered an attack.
Here is the description of the man, given in the paper article...."Some of them remember seeing the dog in the company of a man described as white, tall, slender, well-dressed, well-groomed and clean-shaven. He’s in his late 60s or early 70s and has gray, close-cropped hair.
There is an article about the dog and search for the the dogs' owner in todays Gazette Times newspaper. Authorities are hoping a photo of the dog might lead to the dogs owner. Call the Benton County sheriff's office if you have information.
The owner has not contacted Heartland looking for the dog, but the dog could have gotten away from him during a walk and he was unable to find the dog again. Or, something else could have happened, maybe the man was kidnapped or carjacked or someone did something to him, so they could steal his wallet and his car. Please look at the photo of the dog above.
Maybe he lives on Lewisburg Road or a road off Lewisburg Road? Or off Highland, or maybe off 99W or in that big trailer park out there, east of 99W, just south of Lewisburg Road, or in Adair Village. Anyhow, if you recognize the dog or description of the owner, make that call to the Benton County Sheriff's department.
