Five Cats For Tomorrow

I have five cats lined up for tomorrow. Turns out the Siamese female, sister of the male done last Thursday, is already fixed. So, I went and used the remote control trap to catch the female on Tudor tonight. I'd already taken in her three male kittens to be fixed. She's schizy and it took me about an hour, before she finally went into that trap and I flipped on the remote sender and pulled the lever, tripping the trap. Her three kittens had been in and out of the trap many times before she finally entered. The woman and her husband are ecstatic over her imminent spay.

Two houses down, I still have a couple left to catch. I caught five two houses down, three adults, one kitten and one teen. Then a couple of days later, I caught the Siamese female, which made those folks very happy. But there are two more needing caught down there. That will be next.

I was contacted about a colony of ten off 34th street also, and, five or six more out on Denny School Road, outside Lebanon. I caught a dozen or so for her before. They originate in the neighbors barn, but those folks will neither feed them nor fix them, which does aggravate that responsible couple. The cats migrate her way for food, and she is kind. She even got help (me) in getting her neighbors' barn cats fixed, which also aggravated her, that they would not do it themselves. So, there was one missed or a new arrival, who had kittens. I like that lady, so I am looking forward to helping her again.

I'm getting two males done from the house in downtown Albany under which that gravely ill calico took refuge. And two males abandoned on Spicer when their owner went to jail. So it will be four boys and one girl again.

I hope to take a kitten load to be done soon. I have Rascal here needing fixed, the only one here not fixed. Then there are two female kittens I know needing fixed, older kittens now, plus four left at the Millersburg Road Chaos colony. That's seven. While there is funding available, they need done.

I will need to get the three Scravel Hill kittens fixed, adopted by a friend of mine in Philomath. They should be 8 weeks as of the 5th of November. Then, later on, there will be three more Scravel Hill kittens to be fixed, the three the colony caretaker kept, the latest three of the mysterious female I've yet to see. They're still tiny, however. Then there are the bottle babes, from Corvallis, now two and a half months old, and ready for fixing.

The Matildas are leaving tomorrow. Someone contacted me off craigslist offering them a barn home. I didn't want them to go to a barn home, but when I realized this is someone I know, and the place is a great place for cats, I was happy. It was good to hear from her again. I haven't seen her for years, not since I helped her trap about a dozen cats in their barn to be fixed at a Sweet Home FCCO clinic. That dates our encounter right there, since there have not been FCCO clinics held in Sweet Home forever. Most of the cats, she says, are still alive and doing well, but elderly.

I liked this woman and her family a lot when I met them years ago. So I'm very relieved to know the Matildas will be in good hands. I'll miss them, however.

With the Matildas leaving and Miri getting a home, that's at least three down here, and that's a good thing. Next, I am going to work on finding Rascal, Longtom, Munchy, Sam and Tugs homes. They're all highly adoptable wonderful cats.

And I need to work on finding some spay/neuter funds.
