Angel's Video

I took Angel to SafeHaven. They said they would be taking him a vet this afternoon. Likely that rear leg will need amputated. The front foot, while twisted in an odd direction, seems to have healed.

  2. I really hope your fears about this are unfounded Jodi. I'll be watching for updates on him. There he is in your home, purring, tail up. What a forgiving animal he is. You are an angel yourself for getting him away from further abuse. Here's hoping he gets the treatment, recovers and finds a very good home.

  4. Oh my gosh, I just read your story about Angel. It is you who are an Angel too, Strayer, for taking him in and caring. You are an amazing, amazing wonderful person.

  5. Awwwwwwwwwwwww!! Angel is adorable and I hope someone gives him a wonderful forever home. I wish I lived closer!

Any way the local media might do a story on him? Plus, tripod kitties do just fine. Actually, I have had young patients who do better than adults. Toddlers and kitties have a lot in common. They rarely complain but they are vulnerable. A teenager will be very depressed if a limb has to be amputated due to cancer (my field as you know). However, toddlers who loose eyes or limbs or other body parts NEVER seem to miss these things and have a mch easier time adjusting. The same is true for the tripod cats I see. I once had one and she had also lost an eye (she was a rescue and I grabbed her before the so called Humane Society could take her. I did not trust them!) I dove her to the nearest vet college (some 300 miles) and another province and the specialists there helped create a gadget for her to run in and also took out the bad eye. She was a one year old mom at the time - and we found homes for the kittens. She was my first blue point meezer and was the sweetest most lovable cat and she could outrun any four legged animal r two legged one fo that matter in the house, lol

So my fingers are crossed for Angel! I am sure he would adjust really well to a gadget or ven just on three legs.

  6. He is doing great, Siobhan. I know how to make those carts with harnesses, to help four legged critters who have lost one or two legs, run around. It's really easy and they love them. There's a dog I've seen on video, missing two front legs, who hops around on his two rear legs. He doesn't let it slow his love of life. Animals and kids are amazing sometimes.
