Shocking Photos of the Starvation Brothers

The two brothers I trapped last night, in Dead Car Field at the BS colony, were nearly starved to death. They are skin and bones, and it is a miracle I trapped them last night. Today they were neutered and they got bathes at the clinic, in warm water. I took these photos while they were under anesthesia and being bathed, to show how skinny these brothers are. It is very sad, and yet very wonderful they have hopefully been saved. I am after the third kitten. I did not want more kittens here. It was the very last thing on earth this exhausted person wants, more kittens, to care for, to try to find homes for. But what am I supposed to do, when I run into little guys like this, so desperately in need.

Who wants to adopt the Starvation Brothers, and give them the pampering and care and love they deserve? Contact me if you're willing. Thank you.

  1. OMG!!! I have rescued a few that looked like that but it is always disgusting to see. Sadly, in my days as "just" a pediatric resident, I saw children like that too. We have a saying where I come from 'Il y a rien de fou que de mondes". It's French and roughly translated, means There is nothing as crazy as people

Those poor kittens. Somehow tho, I do think mama cats look after their young better than us "hoomins" That sadly has been my experience in the ER! NOT as an oncologist tho, thankfully tho even there I discover abuse. Wonders never cease!

Is there a vet fund set for them? btw , have you ever heard of imom. I donate to them quite a bit - they help ppl who cannot afford to get vet care for their pets. I won't post the site in case you have some partnership with them. They do good work tho not all vets participate, of course!

  2. I have heard of imom. You know what is incredible? It's not even their mom taking care of them, it is Cajun and Wily's mom, whom I trapped and got spayed first. Then I saw the kittens in the dead cars, with a gray tab on white mom, and trapped her, when trying to trap the kittens. But who did I startle back there last night, with the kittens? the older brown tabby tux, spayed mother of Cajun and Wily. The young gray tab on white actual mother, was cavorting back with her colony mates at BSO2. So this brown tabby mom, is trying to care for them. They're doing good tonight, happy, dazed, in with the rest of the trailer park kitten crowd, in my bathroom.

  3. You should be cloned! Keep at it!
I cannot believe the state of those cats. They are so lucky to have crossed your path. I hope the third one finds you, too.
It's August in Europe where I live and all I see are cats all over the city because the ignorant, heartless fools have left for their vacations and just put their animals outside - no food, no spay/neuter, nothing. What's worse are the ones I fear have been locked in because we hear about those too. It keeps me up at night. God bless your work.

  4. I caught their sister in the night. She's in very poor shape, from starvation, but I hope she makes it.

People act like demons, like assholes, very cruel, and we don't have to.

  5. Yes, it's deplorable and makes me so depressed. I would honestly take them all home if it would help, but that's not the root of the problem and changing people isn't going to happen here without legal backing. Just imagine throwing your cat away? Or dog or anything sentient. I can't figure it out.

  8. Thats so beautiful, i hope you found home for them. Here in my country things are worst :( people here don't like cats, i try my best to safe them but vets here are so expensive, sometimes its very hard for me because i am just a student. we don't have help from any organization or government so its hard, but we always do it with love.
if you have some advice for me, just tell me, it will be very helpful.
Sending love for you and your cats and giving you a big THANKS for doing the world a better place for them, we do what we can with love!

    1. They got all the food they could eat, after rescue, including highly nutritious kitten food, wet food and nutrical. I still have two of them, Mops and Buffy. Doc, the third, was adopted out years ago.
