83 Albany Cats So far

Since mid April, when I got access to 10k from the city of Albany, through Poppa, to help cover fixing Albany cats, I've taken in 83 Albany cats to be fixed. These cats, to be eligible, must be within city limits, which has proven dicey, to even know where city limits are. None of the large Millersburg colonies, just outside Albany city limits, qualified, nor did the Tattoo Prairie cats, who are just outside city limits. So the majority of cats I have taken in since mid April, have not qualified. But the grant has been helpful in covering city cat costs, that's for sure.

At least the 30 some cats I took in from Heatherdale all came under the grant. The large group of Front street cats have qualified also. The here and there's, as I call them, also--abandoned cats and those whose owners don't qualify for SafeHaven vouchers or won't take the time to go get one, their cats have been fixed anyway, thanks to the grant.

I'm not counting people like the old couple in Albany, feeding two strays, who actually paid the full cost of getting them fixed. But that kind of behavior, responsible action, is not so common in these parts. Hats off to this old couple!
