These represent only the tip of the iceberg of the kitten explosion occurring. SafeHaven says they have over 70 kittens in foster. KAT has about the same number. At least KAT gets them fixed before adopting them out. SafeHaven doesn't, which is stupid given the cat problem in Linn County.
This is only the first round, too. Well, in some cases, females are already having second litters. Some females will have three or even four litters this season. I am so fed up I am having trouble going on. Maybe it's all the animal abuse I've seen lately. Maybe it's the Clover Ridge Road situation and people screwing me over, taking advantage of me, knowing I love cats. I'm fed up. My back hurts and I really cannot believe in people anymore. There isn't any way anymore.
I absolutely hate living in Albany. It's a grubby town full of people who don't fix their pets. By contrast, Heartland has no kittens. Yup, that's the difference right there between Linn County and Benton County--spelled out clear in the number of people who do and don't fix their pets. There are hundreds upon hundreds of kittens being born just in Albany.
I want to put all my cats up for adoption and head into the hills and never be seen again.
Call these people. Give them holy hell for contributing to the overpopulation problem. It's selfish and it's a cat hating thing to do.

I am a Cat Woman. My self-appointed mission in life is to save the feline world! To accomplish this mission, I get cats fixed. Perhaps my mission might be slightly delusional. This blog is a mishmash of wishful thinking, rants, experiences as I remember them and of course, cat stories and cat photos. I have a nonprofit now, to help keep the cats here cared for and to fix community cats. Happy Cat Club formed in 2015. Currently, we are on a mission to fix 10,000 cats.
