Update:

We have snow.  A little anyhow.  Enough to get us excited here.  Portland is a mess.  Traffic snarled everywhere, mainly from ice.  We have mostly ice too.  In fact, from freezing rain, the trees are heavy with it.  I am wondering if the maple will hold through the weight.

Ice has accumulated on the outside of some windows.

Hey, that's my sitting chair!

Poor Rhododendron!

Dark night video........

I hope the maple holds.  It's shrouded in ice and that's heavy.   Got some sagging branches.   Maybe I will wear my bike helmet to bed.

I hope your heating is working well. I saw a terrible video a couple of years ago about ice on trees in I think Toronto. The ice just smashed the trees.

  3. Maples are pretty strong so hopefully it will hold up. Pines that's another story. In our old house, we always had branches down from them whether we had ice, snow, or wind. BTW, I love your first snow picture.

  4. Great photos! My perennial grasses got somewhat flattened by heavy snows. Oh, well. At least we aren't surrounded by large trees. I'm so glad your maple is doing okay!
