Good News!

Chinook is doing just fine.  I called the clinic today.  In fact, he has a new name--Oliver, and will soon have a new home.  The vet had a friend with a kitten who needed a kitten.   Good luck Oliver (a.k.a. Chinook) and thanks so much to my beloved affordable vet clinic and their kind vets and staff.

Also, I was gifted a few more reservations for tomorrow, 3 more to be exact, and five more a week from tomorrow.  So what do I do?  I go trap six more cats at the Albany colony.  Five of them are technically kittens, four of those smaller than one, who is more of a teen.   3 will be fixed tomorrow and I'll hold onto 3 until next Tuesday, when they will be fixed.

Of the smaller four kittens, there are two blacks and two black tuxes

The black long hair teen again.  This one, looks male, is too old to tame.  The grand daughter of one of the feeders may try to tame some of the younger kittens.
Merry Christmas!  I got my fake tree up yesterday.  Got it two years ago at the Habitat Store for almost nothing.  Cats don't mess with it as much as they do with a real tree.

  1. Wonderful news about Oliver.
We haven't put up a tree for a few years now. Real or artifical the cats played. And played.

    1. They always do. A Christmas tree is really a giant cat toy.

  2. So happy to hear that Oliver is doing better. Was there a diagnosis of his problem?

You have a very nice tree. Now, we need to put ours up.

    1. Yes, you do need to put up a tree for your first Christmas in your new place! No diagnosis, but I didn't ask, over the phone, they had begun the days surgeries. I'm sure it was just constipation coupled with dehydration. She was going to be giving him more fluids than I had been doing.

  3. Great news about Chinook/Oliver. He is such a little cutie pie. Congrats on more appts. I haven't put up a tree in more years than I can remember. Between the dogs & cats, many of my favorite ornaments were broken so I just stopped. Someday I'll have a yard sale & get rid of my tree and the gazillion ornaments I have left.

Much Christmas spirit in your home. We were sick of our white tree and so bought a green one for this years but it is not up yet.

  5. I'm glad for your good luck there. Our fake tree is 27-years old now, and I don't think they make them look or last that good anymore.

    1. Like everything else, Snow, nothing made to last. This one I've had now I think 3 years.

  6. No Christmas tree in our house, but I did buy a poinsettia flower.... I'm enjoying everyone else's decorations on their blogs and facebook. I noticed a lot of kitty beds around your tree... are your cats possessive about which bed they sleep in?

    1. Yes, and there are tiffs if someone tries to move in on someone else's favorite bed. Behind the tree, that's a diaper change station, on wheels, I got long ago. Works very well for cats beds, movable for cleaning too.

  7. I'm thrilled to read good news. And I like your tree. I just haven't had the energy to lug my huge old beauty out of the basement this year. But I have a smaller one purchased at a fund raising auction years ago. It was to support our local no kill shelter. The tree is covered in resin dog ornaments. ~grin~ I'll go get it this morning!
