Hard to Say No

I've gotten over a dozen people contacting me interested in kittens lately. Some, however, are people who already have unfixed cats and claim they cannot afford to get their cat or cats fixed. I offer help with that. But I wonder, why would you try to get yet another cat, if you cannot afford to care for the one you already have?

I don't like saying no to people but I have to do it often with adoptions.

My car is back. Fixed. A few hundred dollars later. But I got a huge break on the whole thing because I know the tow company who also did the repairs. I know them because I've helped them with cat issues several times. They are honest decent people and wanted to give me a break for a change. YOu want the name of an honest tow company and mechanic? Highway 34 Towing. Honest as apple pie.

  1. Hey Jody, Will your cats eat Meow mix dry food? I got a ton of coupons in the mail today and I can go pick up the dry food if you can use it. Mine can't eat it, one of them has allergies and gets puffed up eyes.

  2. Meow Mix makes my cats vomit. So that would be a no.

  3. Meow Mix also has some bad ingredients- too much fibre for cats which is prob why it makes them ill. Esp cats who have beeb ill or immunocompromised. I had a cat once who loved the stuff - this was before I knew it was not good- and sometimes gave it as a treat and this one, Christopher Robin ("tiffer" for short) knew how to open the %^%$ door where the stuff was si then I had to put it higher but of course, you know he just figured that out too. He was addicted and needed a 12 step program badly, lol Finally, I brought home from work some baby safety things for the kitchen cupboards. A wise idea when you have kittens and cats anyway.

Esp Siamese who love to climb, lol

  5. wow who would ever know that stuff like that makes cats ill? I buy the fancy feast dry food for mine - he loves the fancy feast wet food, as well = the grilled varieties only though. that's all he eats, along with the f.f. dry. the other dry food seems so big and crunchy ....

  6. I try to stay away fr grocery store food but I do realize in this time of recession or even geography - some ppl have little choice and fancy Feast is actually not the worst by far. I have sometimes given it to YY who LOVES it. The others do no so she gets it all to herself, lol

Had a run in with a Wal Mart clerk about a wk ago, write to co, mgr called (quelle surprs)and gave me back the Calling Card I brought in (it was not activated and soe snippy (hateful is more like it) clerk refused to return me another one and claimed mgr was busy! So, in addition to card, they gave me a $50 gift card and I gave that to Siamese rescue who are in need of funds. I would have sent it to you Jody but when I asked, they told me it only worked in Canada, sigh!!! How close are you to the border - if it happens again and you are not far, (and since this rarely happens, who knows), I will send it to you. I figured it was money I would not have anyway and they could buy things (maybe not food per se tho they sell Fancy Feast but beds, toys etc for the kitties) It just kills me to see a cat with no toys! Or a kitten you have to teach to play!

Actualy, to make certain, it got yo the CATS< I called the pres, asked what they needed bec there are a few there who might just do things with the money I might agree with and I wanted to be sure the CATS and KITTENS benefited, NOT the ppl! Unless say gas for their cars to help cars but anyway- I bought 2 beds on sale, toys oc, a snuggle blanket, some kitten milk, blankets, a carrier, and assorted oth items.

Speaking of cas, my neighbour's cat has been walking with a limp now for a wk and I am irked they let him roam when they come home to begin with- and he is a lawyer and she a univ prof so they are not supposed to be "stupid" BUT... finally, I asked them when they invited bf and I for a glass of wine what happened to __'s paw. She claimed they went to vet and cat was on antibiotics but I hate to say I am not certain I believe it. Bec I know the vet they said they went to. Actually I asked, "Name of Vet?" and they replied in affirmative but said vet has not seen said cat. What should I do? I think I will say maybe they need a 2nd opinion or from my own work with cats (she is always at least asking me q's about cat care) or that the paw still looks like it is not getting better and he shd not be jumping so much on it. He walks very gingerly on it. When we were there, he sat on my lap the whole time. Poor guy just does not get enough attention, sigh! They do care for him but are never home. You know, the case of the poor little rich cat!

I also bought this cat his first TOY when I was catsitting while they were away. What to do, sigh!
