Cat Blogosphere Hosts Raffle to Help Raise Funds for Lebanon Cats

Click the post title to go directly to the raffle site. The Cat Blogospherees again are attempting to raise money, through a raffle to help with special needs cats. In this case, the recipients are going to be the Lebanon Shovel Killing Neighbor colony cats, including the fuzzy muted calico with the eye, needing treatment.

The Cat Blogospherees have done this several times in the past. They raised money for Hope, the cat whose eye was knocked out of its socket by blunt force trauma in downtown Albany. She then retreated into the ramshackle house, where the person who owned her, then abandoned her, once lived. Hope had three kittens she continued to care for with an eye hanging out of its socket. When saw me, through the window, she began meowing piteously. She trusted me, you see. Out she came, through the hole in the foundation, pushing her three kittens ahead of her.

Hope now resides in the most wonderful of homes, in Central Oregon, and travels with the couple in their RV, on extended vacations. I still get e-mails from Hope, describing her exotic travels! Hope's eye had to be removed. The blogospherees raised several hundred dollars to offset the cost of that surgery.

The blogospherees helped raise money for Mickey's care. Mickey is the adult orange and white male, who weighed only five pounds when I first saw him. The white fur on one side was streaked in blood. He was curled in an old car. I netted him.

One of Mickey's eyes had exploded from infection. The remnants had to be removed. He required long term care and now resides in the home of a wonderful kind and caring woman in Surrey B.C. Mickey lucked out. A Portland couple also contributed to Mickey's operation.

So the Cat Blogospherees have helped out some very in need Oregon cats with extreme medical needs. Now, they're at it again.

Raffle tickets are $2 each. Prize: a boom box valued at $80. Again, go directly to the raffle site by clicking the post title.

And thank you ML, and all you cat blogosphere people! You're saints!
