Trooper was abandoned by tenants living in a complex over on 34th street. When some former homeless Camp Boondoggle residents moved into that complex, they began caring for this young neutered male. Thing is though, he seemed always ill and sometimes would stop eating altogether. So, a group of bloggers back east did a fund raising auction and raised money to help Trooper get care. Two days ago, I took him in for what I thought would be a standard dental. He had some bad teeth, I could see, one broken off up front. But turns out he has mouth growths and sores and a condition I can't spell, let alone pronounce, although, I've had experience with this before. Some cases may be bartonella caused, although this theory is unproven. It is generally thought to be an autoimmune disorder and a cat must then get once monthly cortisone injections for life. But my vet is going to try him on three weeks of zithromax just to see if it helps.
This is the cat who had a rough high on ketamin, given as anesthesia and for pain relief during his extractions and I had to rush him back to the vet late last night after his caretakers called, hysterical, saying he was having convulsions.
He's doing great, ate great today, looks 100% better and is now home. My only concern now is that his caretakers may be evicted. They are always behind on rent.
Thank you cat blogosphere, for helping Trooper get a better life!

Trooper looks so sweet and happy. He's got a real friend in you, Jody.
Thanks for letting us know about Trooper. I'm glad he found you to help. Poor baby. You're a very good person Jody.
That's great news about Trooper. You are a wonderful person to help all those cats in need, Jody. I hope his caretakers can continue looking after him, or else that they can find him a wonderful Forever Home.
I was glad I could help him out, with the help of the blogospheres! I love you guys!
